Fab Five – Spring 2020

This has been an interesting spring, to say the least. I always look forward to spring. However, I never expected to spend most of my days inside. COVID-19 has definitely made an impact on all of us in some way or another. There are days when I feel overwhelmed with everything. But there are also days when I count my blessings and try to find a little sunshine after the rain. Here are a few of the things that are brightening my spring days.

Target Tank Dress

I came across this super cute dress from the A New Day brand at Target. I couldn’t wait until it warmed up just a little so I could wear it! It is flowy which makes it super comfortable. And it is the perfect item to wear when you want to look cute and hide the results of over-snacking (guilty as charged). It comes in so many colors. Did I mention it’s affordable too? It’s so easy on the wallet you can afford to buy two…scratch that…three dresses!

Salads + Sweets

Coping with the uncertainty that COVID-19 has put everyone in has made my sweet tooth go into overdrive. Everyday I find myself reaching for a sweet treat. My go-to sweets have been Twizzlers or homemade rice krispy treats. As expected, that can wreck havoc on the body. To add balance back into my nutrition, and to help me not feel like crap for eating so much junk, I’ve been eating way more salads. A simple garden salad or Caesar salad has been hitting the spot for me.

Amazon Prime Fire Stick

Since March my Amazon Fire Stick has been my ace in the hole. Although I feel like I only watch the same ole things, I do appreciate having most of the things I want to watch available to me. I can flip from YouTube-to-ESPN or TNT-to-Bravo anytime I want. Having the variety of entertainment has been great.

*Did you watch Amazon Prime’s “Making the Cut”? Well, it’s a new show featuring Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn (previous hosts of Bravo’s “Project Runway”. Their new show is similar to Project Runway only way more extensive into the process of designing and building a brand. Season 1 was “okay” in my book. I’ll give it one more season to see if it stays in my lineup. Project Runway will always be bae.*

Walmart Lavender & Chamomile Candle

It’s hard for me to have a Fab Five and not include a candle. This lavender & chamomile candle by Great Value was a random purchase one day at Wal-Mart. We are now almost done burning our second candle! I just had to buy more. This candle is great at adding a subtle floral scent to the home. Since it’s from Wal-Mart, you can buy four candles for the price of one comparable Bath & Body Works three-wick candle.

Short Walks

Since visiting family in person has been put off for a safer time, I’ve found some comfort speaking with my mom and brother over the phone during my afternoon walks. Spring is my favorite time of the year, and I have to get out and enjoy it in some way.
