Downtown Tulsa has exploded with new and vibrant life. From new buildings to new restaurants, Tulsa is making sure it doesn’t get left in the past while still honoring it’s history. If you’re visiting Tulsa and looking for a unique nighttime experience beyond Tulsa’s typical attractions, then the tour by US Ghost Adventures should be on your list. This isn’t a jump-scare filled money grab. The US Ghost Adventures provides a great opportunity to see parts of the city while learning the history of the location.

Tulsa of All Places

It may not seem like it today, but Tulsa used to be the hub for many businesses that supplied the needs of the United States infrastructure that we still use today. Route 66 runs right through the city along with many railroad routes. These carried many new faces to Tulsa decades and decades over. This, along with ambitious Oklahomans, built Tulsa. As one can imagine, with so much rich history in the oil and gas and music industries there are very interesting and disturbing stories that have surfaced. Tulsa landmarks like Cain’s Ballroom, The Tulsa Theatre, formerly the Brady Theatre, and Black Wall Street all have known pasts and are just a few of the spots that are either included or mentioned on the tour.

I’ve lived in Tulsa over a decade and my husband as been here his entire life and we were told stories that we’ve never heard. I’m not going to give away too much, but Tulsa seems to be a place that music legends like to linger long after they’ve passed away.

Not Your Average Ghost Tour

This ghost tour is not lead by a general Tulsa tour guide. For all the spooky details you need an expert. Heartland Haunts is the group that hosts the Tulsa area region of the US Ghost Adventures. With this group we were able to experience one of the best haunted ghost tours in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and learn the stories behind the city’s most mysterious locations. What impressed me most about the ghost stories was that history was intertwined with each new revelation. It grounded the stories while still allowing me to imagine what paranormal anomalies others may have experienced.

Our guide was great. It was hard to believe we were his first solo tour ever. He made sure to provide background information for those on the tour who were not from the area while also refreshing the information for those of us who had some existing knowledge of several locations. He made sure to go at a pace that worked for everyone. He also remained undistracted by the random downtown Tulsa activities on a Saturday night.
