Fall Bucket List

autumn moments

Hey y’all!

The time of the year for flannel shirts, college football, and gooey s’mores by the fire is here! One or all of those things I listed may not be on your checklist of activities for autumn but don’t let that stop you from creating a list of fun things to do this cool and crisp season. If you need some ideas, here is my fall bucket list!

  • Attend a Football Game – Fall season goes hand-and-hand with football season. Find a college level or professional team to cheer for and go all in!
  • Decorate Pumpkins – There are several diy decorating tutorials on Pinterest and YouTube that can help you make your pumpkin stand out.
  • Learn Cooking Recipes for Cooler Weather – Chili, chicken and dumplings, and stew are perfect to warm you up when the nights get cold.
  • Fall in Love with a Comfy Sweater –  Be well-dressed and comfortable this season by finding that great outfit.

Feel free to use this list to get you started on having a great fall!

Check out my Fall Favorites video to see what I’m loving this season!

We tried some new and interesting snacks!

We stopped by the Annual Porter Peach Festival!

Tulsa hosted a Local Luau at Guthrie Green in downtown Tulsa! We stopped by and had a great time and ate some delicious food!

Art & Oysters – Art on Main and Oysterfest 2016

Hey everyone!

photo: Colormyfootsteps

This past weekend was such a beautiful weekend. David and I couldn’t wait to get out and enjoy the weather. We decided to make a few stops at some local events. We had a great time and of course we want to share it with you.

Our first destination was Art on Main in Jenks, OK. We arrived and David grabbed something to eat right away. There were a few local food trucks that I am familiar with. David decided on a pulled pork sandwich from The Local Table food truck. Once he finished we walked around admiring the art showcased at several of the art booths (tents). Live music, face painting and inflatables for the kids were on the scene. Of course art was on display by the artists. There were some awesome pieces available for purchase. A few of the artists that we were impressed with were Chris Hopkins and Kris Fairchild. Both artists reside here in Oklahoma.

Since we didn’t plan on purchasing any pieces of art we decided to cut our stay short.

Our second destination was Oysterfest 2016 at Guthrie Green in downtown Tulsa. Live music and a variety of booths offering their own oyster presentations were a part of the event. We looked around and took in the atmosphere before purchasing our tickets to try a few of the oyster choices. The money raised goes to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. We tried three booths total. I’ll be honest oysters are a required taste but I can see why some people find them tasty. There is a light seafood flavor to them. If they are prepared a certain way they can be spicy and/or smoky.

We had a wonderful time seeing what the Tulsa area had to offer this past weekend. I hope you got out there to enjoy the fall weather.

Product Review: Livesay Orchards Peach Jam

Hey y’all! It has been quite some time since I last posted a product review on my blog. Lately I have saved most of my product reviews for my YouTube channel. Which if you haven’t subscribed to yet, you should be ashamed! Just kidding.

The product I am reviewing is Livesay Orchards Peach Jam. I purchased this item at the 50th Annual Peach Festival in Porter, Oklahoma a few weekends ago. My husband and I have tried the product and here is what we think.

The packaging was simple and colorful. The product name and ingredients were easy to read. For the amount that I paid for the product ($4.99) I felt like I got an ample amount of jam.

The jam has a simple ingredients list and that simplicity is what I tasted in this product. The jam had a strong peach flavor, but did not taste like imitation peach flavoring at all (example. peach flavored soda pop or Jolly Ranchers). The product consistency was great. It spread very easily.

Final Thoughts

I really like this product. I mainly like it because of the simplicity of it. Of course I also like it because it is made right here in Oklahoma. I don’t think it is too pricey. I feel it maybe a little pricey compared to other brands you would find in the store. However, knowing where the product comes from makes it worth it to me.

Livesay Orchards has a variety of products including products other than peaches. However, peaches are an obvious choice when looking to purchase some of their items.

Have you tried any of the Livesay Orchards peaches? What about their other products? Let me know!

Thanks for reading y’all!

June/July Photo Wrap-Up 2016

Hey y’all! So I completely forgot to do a photo wrap-up for June. Since I didn’t take many pictures June or so far into July I decided to mash them together. Enjoy!

June kicked off the beginning of summer! I made sure to snack on some summer favorites of mine. I also refused to let the summer heat keep me from enjoying the outdoors.

June also brought fun times with friends! It was a lot of fun and much needed girl time.

Of course David and I had to get some good EATS! Early in the month of July we stopped by Upper Crust at 9110 S Yale Ave, in Tulsa. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was pretty laid back.

Was that not enough Colormyfootsteps for you? Well, don’t forget to follow me on my other social media platforms (Instagram: Colormyfootsteps, Facebook: Colormyfootsteps) to see what else I get into. Of course you can find me on YouTube as well.

Hanging around town!

Thanks for stopping by my neck of the blogging woods. I’ll see you guys and girls later!

March Photo Wrap-Up 2016

It feels to me like March has actually been shorter than February this year! Time flies when you’re having fun. Enjoy this month’s photos y’all!

I hit the road with my favorite traveling companion, and best friend David. We had a great time at the Arnold Fitness Expo in Columbus, Ohio!

When these beautiful trees start blooming again I know spring is here!

Stumbled upon these new items while shopping for kid birthday gifts. These are a part of the new line of “fashionista” Barbie dolls. They have curvy, petite and tall dolls. Being a tall girl myself I sure wish they would’ve had these options when I was a little girl.

Date night fun with the David. We tried a new restaurant and watched a movie at The Warren Theatre.

Yummy dinner at The Waterfront Grill in Jenks, OK (reference date night above). It was our first time dining here and the food was delicious. I had the catfish fillets, with coleslaw and Asian stir-fry vegetables. I was impressed with the catfish. Did I mention yummy yet?

One of the most important indicators that spring has arrived is my god-daughter, Icely’s, birthday. I am so honored to have her in my life. She is growing up too fast.

I hope your month went well. Even though allergies can be a pain in the butt, please get out there and enjoy the outdoors.

Thanks for reading!

Culture & Body Art – Tulsa Culture Festival 2015

Hey y’all! I know it has been awhile since my last post, but I assure you that I haven’t forgotten about my blog.

This past weekend my mom, David and I went to the 1st Tulsa Culture Festival in Glenpool, OK which was put together by Lamorell Entertainment LLC..The event was held at the Glenpool Convention Center from Friday evening to Saturday evening. Since it was the first time for this event I didn’t expect for the attendance to be too high. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the turn out. There were vendors available offering everything from tribal print clothing to homemade body essentials like soaps and body lotions. For us the musical performances and the body paint were definitely the highlights of the event. We only stayed for around 4 hours but we were not disappointed. If you happened to miss it this year make sure to look out for it next year.

I started off the month right by celebrating a few birthdays of my good friends. One particular celebration included getting some yummy lunch at Food Truck Wednesday at Guthrie Green in downtown Tulsa! If you’re ever in the area on a Wednesday stop by Guthrie Green! I’m sure you’ll find something you like.

Downtown Tulsa is really buzzing during the summer months. Typically every weekend there is something going on. The Tulsa Drillers always have postgame fireworks that can be seen for miles. Just hang out and enjoy yourself.

It seems like I spent a lot of my time downtown. I stopped by a Tulsa Drillers baseball game and also The Juneteenth Celebration.

I spent many of my free moments sitting on my balcony sipping coffee or simply watching the sunset. Of course I had to use my favorite mug that I purchased a few months ago from Ida Red Boutique on Brookside. You can check out the blog post about that here. I also stopped by the Tidewater Winery in Drumright, OK for their Cajun festival. We had a great time!

May Photo Wrap-Up 2015

Hey y’all hey!! Another month is in the books! Summer is creeping upon us. My month was filled with fun times with fun people. I hope you enjoy these photographic mementos.

I went to the Renaissance Festival in Muskogee, OK with family. We had a nice time. There was so much to see. The festival is the entire month of May, but if you missed it this month don’t worry because it will be back next year.

David participated in his 4th powerlifting meet. He performed very well and exceeded his own expectations. I was so proud of him. He even walked away with a sparkly new trophy.

I attended my family reunion in Tahlequah, OK. It was nice to see relatives that I haven’t seen in awhile. I also swung by my alma mater Northeastern State University.

The International Natural Hair Meet Up Day was May 30th. The meet-up at the Tulsa location was hosted by Resilient Soul at Foolish Things Coffee in downtown Tulsa. There were vendors and professional hair stylists at the event.

In my opinion the highlight of the event was the natural hair panel. A few different topics were discussed and everyone who participated (whether on the panel or in the crowd) seemed to have valid opinions.

On Sunday David and I stopped by Freebirds located in Southern Hills of Tulsa. We had a good meal and great conversation. I like Freebirds because it has a laid back feel and pretty good burritos. And yes…that is the Statue of Liberty riding a motorcycle lol.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. I do appreciate your time. Don’t forget to Like the Facebook page!
