In nearly 5 years of rocking my natural hair I have used many products. You know how it is. We’re constantly in search of the “holy grail” product line up. Over the past years the natural hair market has exploded. From small business brands to even larger companies jumping in on the expanding natural hair marketplace. As I said earlier, I’ve used my fair share of natural hair products. I thought I would do a quick toe-to-toe review for you.
Camille Rose Naturals Curl Maker VS Kinky-Curly Curling Custard
It’s no secret that I love to use the Camille Rose Naturals Curl Maker when I want to rock a wash n’ go on my 4c natural hair. However, when I first attempted wash n’ go’s I used the Kinky-Curly Curling Custard. Several natural hair bloggers and vloggers stated that the Kinky-Curly Curling Custard had a learning curve (not to mention a tongue twister name). And like many natural hair bloggers and vloggers, I just could not catch onto the best way to use the product. The Camille Rose Naturals Curl Maker is easier to use and allows me the definition and hold without the stickiness that accompanies the Kinky-Curly Curling Custard. Winner: Camille Rose Naturals Curl Maker
Camille Rose Naturals Coconut Water Leave-In Treatment VS
Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioning Repair Cream
This is a difficult decision. My hair loves coconut oil. However, I am not a big fan of the scent of coconut oil. Luckily, the tropical scent does not linger very long after application for either of these conditioners. The Camille Rose Naturals Coconut Water Leave-In is a good leave-in conditioner. The Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioning Repair Cream is also good. But that’s about it for both leave-in conditioners, just good. The Camille Rose Naturals Coconut Water Leave-In did not offer the amount of slip that I prefer for a leave-in conditioner. Also, the price point for the Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Repair Cream is significantly less. Winner: Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Repair Cream

Kinky-Curly Knot Today Leave-In Conditioner VS Mielle Organics White Peony Leave-In Conditioner
The Kinky-Curly Knot Today Leave-In Conditioner is my all time favorite conditioner for my 4c coils. That doesn’t mean I haven’t tried to find alternatives when my favorite is out of stock at Target. That was exactly my reason for trying the Mielle Organics White Peony Leave-In Conditioner. There are several things I love about the Kinky-Curly Knot Today Leave-In Conditioner. It’s lightweight, has good slip, and is full of natural ingredients. Mielle Organics White Peony Leave-In Conditioner looked the part but was not a good fit for my curls. The conditioner had a heavy floral scent, the spray bottle was poorly designed, and my hair did not feel moisturized at all after use. Winner: Kinky-Curly Knot Today Leave-In Conditioner
Camille Rose Naturals Almond Jai Twisting Butter VS Beautiful Textures Moisture Butter Whipped Curl Creme
This is a tough one because I absolutely love the smell of both products. The Camille Rose Naturals Almond Jai Twisting Butter smells like a slice of vanilla cake. The Beautiful Textures Moisture Butter Whipped Curl Creme smells like a bag of fruity candy. But the winner can’t be decided simply based on the scent. The Camille Rose Naturals Almond Jai Twisting Butter is velvety smooth in texture and easy to distribute through the strands. It also offers great hold to aid in extending a twist out or braid out. The Beautiful Textures Moisture Butter Whipped Curl Creme also glides easily onto hair. However, the Beautiful Textures Moisture Butter Whipped Curl Creme doesn’t have the same amount of hold that the Camille Rose Naturals Almond Jai Twisting Butter has, in my humble opinion. But the Beautiful Textures Moisture Butter Whipped Curl Creme is easier on the pocketbook. Winner: TIE!
Whew! This is only a few of the products that I have tried. Honestly, I probably have forgotten a few over the years. Hopefully, this post will assist you in finding a natural hair product. This post was in no way created to put down any natural hair brands. It was simply my honest opinion based on my own personal use.
Thanks for reading! What are some of your favorite natural hair products?
I use the Love of People the most, and DevaCurl. I haven’t branched out much, but thanks for these ideas of what to try when I do venture out.
