I must say…I love the weekend especially Saturday. Saturday always feels like a clean slate to me. It feels like an opportunity to accomplish any and everything. To venture into the unknown and discover new things. Ok, ok, that may have been a little dramatic but what can I say…the weekend was made for rest, relaxation and exploration (at least in my book).
On a rainy Saturday we, “we” meaning my mom, boyfriend and I, decided to stop by the India Festival organized by the India Association of Greater Tulsa. The event was held at the Expo Square Pavilion in Tulsa. There was a lot to visually take in. A stage, seating, and plenty of vendor booths filled the arena floor. Many people dressed in traditional clothing from India. Clothing sales, native foods, tapestry, ceramics and henna tattoos were available. Traditional dances were performed including Garba. The dance, Garba, is performed during the nine-day Hindu festival Navaratri. So I didn’t get a henna tattoo or eat any homemade curry BUT I did ride a camel. A camel named Angie. She was smelly but I had a great time.

The rain had moved on and left perfect weather to be outside in. Later that evening we set out to check out the food truck festival “Taste on Main ” in Broken Arrow, OK. There was live music, a kid zone and of course food. Now I will admit, I had already eaten hours prior to going to this event and didn’t really have the appetite to enjoy any of the tasty creations available so my mom and I stood around in “creeper mode” the whole time we were there, but we still had a good time.

To top off the weekend I felt it was only appropriate to do a mini faux-photo shoot at Woodward Park. You have to take advantage of beautiful weather right?
