• Decorative Pumpkins

The pumpkin is the unofficial symbol of the fall season.  While I was prepping my house for the season I took to Pinterest to find home decor ideas.  The images of decorated pumpkins, from simple-to-intricate were enough to persuade me to decorate my own.  My own decorative pumpkins did not turn out as well as I would have liked.  However, I still proudly display them…in the privacy of my bedroom.

• Black Nail Polish

My brother swears that I am going through a “goth” phase when he sees me wearing black nail polish.  I’m not going through a phase of any kind.  I simply like the color black.  Especially during the colder months of the year.  It’s deep, bold, and moody. Okay, that does sound “goth”.

• Tim Burton

Tim Burton is one of my favorite directors.  My childhood was filled with his creative works.  This time of year always makes me want to watch several of his odd, and at times humorous films.  I don’t know which combination is better Tim Burton + Michael Keaton (Beetlejuice, Batman) or Tim Burton + Johnny Depp (Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Todd, etc.).  The debate really doesn’t matter.  Just watch and enjoy.

• Goal Setting

I am all about goal setting.  Goals help you to remain actively pursuing something positive in your life.   Whether it is fitness, emotional health, relationships, work, or adventure, I think working towards something and then achieving it is the best.

• A Good Book

I mentioned in my Confessions of a Novice Writer post that reading frequently has been something that I have pushed myself to do.  It actually has been something I look forward to.  At the moment, I reserve my reading time to right before bed as a way to help me to wind down from the day.  It is so much better than staring at the screen of my phone for hours.
