Tulsa Food Tour 2.0! Valentines Day Options

Hey everyone!

I don’t know about you but I have been waiting patiently for another Food Tour! David and I decided to kick off this food tour by emphasizing local restaurants that would be great options for a date on Valentines Day.

  • The Wild Fork – 1820 Utica Square, Tulsa, OK

Our first stop was at The Wild Fork in the Utica Square Shopping Center in midtown Tulsa. This restaurant sits in the center of the shopping center. On first appearance the outside and the inside screamed “charming”. We were greeted as soon as we entered and seated in a cozy yet spacious booth. The restaurant offered various seating options from seating at the bar to seating at one of the giant windows which filled the space with awesome natural lighting. We ordered our food and spent some time chatting and looking at the art work for sale that hung from the walls. I will say our food seemed to take a while to prepare. My mom, who tagged along with us, was not too pleased with that. Once our food arrived it was worth the wait. Everything was made to order and fresh. Although my mother was a little under-whelmed by the food, David and I really enjoyed our tasty breakfast. The price was affordable, the service was great and the ambiance can’t be beat. I definitely would encourage you to stop by The Wild Fork.

  • Senor Tequila – Brookside, The Mill and Plaza Del Sol (3 locations) Tulsa, OK

For David and I, Senor Tequila is always on the list of possible places to celebrate Valentines Day. We spent our first Valentines Day here years ago at the 71st street location. So as you can imagine it only seems right to bring you all along. This place has a great atmosphere and of course good food. I don’t think I’ve ever been disappointed with what I’ve ordered.

I ordered the shrimp ceviche tostados. David had the chicken chimichanga. The shrimp ceviche tostados were light and refreshing. David’s dish was cheesy and savory. One of the main selling points at this restaurant is of course the margaritas. We finished our meal with sopapillas with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.  With 3 locations I’m sure you can find one near you to try.

There are plenty of national chain restaurants that you could go for Valentine’s Day but I encourage you to try something different and find a local restaurant. Typically the service you receive will be great, because they appreciate your business, and the food will be superb and have a homemade taste and feel. Celebrate your day of love showing love to some local spots.
