This past weekend was such a beautiful weekend. David and I couldn’t wait to get out and enjoy the weather. We decided to make a few stops at some local events. We had a great time and of course we want to share it with you.

Our first destination was Art on Main in Jenks, OK. We arrived and David grabbed something to eat right away. There were a few local food trucks that I am familiar with. David decided on a pulled pork sandwich from The Local Table food truck. Once he finished we walked around admiring the art showcased at several of the art booths (tents). Live music, face painting and inflatables for the kids were on the scene. Of course art was on display by the artists. There were some awesome pieces available for purchase. A few of the artists that we were impressed with were Chris Hopkins and Kris Fairchild. Both artists reside here in Oklahoma.

Since we didn’t plan on purchasing any pieces of art we decided to cut our stay short.

Our second destination was Oysterfest 2016 at Guthrie Green in downtown Tulsa. Live music and a variety of booths offering their own oyster presentations were a part of the event. We looked around and took in the atmosphere before purchasing our tickets to try a few of the oyster choices. The money raised goes to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. We tried three booths total. I’ll be honest oysters are a required taste but I can see why some people find them tasty. There is a light seafood flavor to them. If they are prepared a certain way they can be spicy and/or smoky.

We had a wonderful time seeing what the Tulsa area had to offer this past weekend. I hope you got out there to enjoy the fall weather.
